At 328 E Lake Rd S, this culinary gem greets guests with an inviting, neat, and artfully decorated ambiance that blends traditional Thai elements with a polished modern flair—quite impressive, especially given its strip plaza location.
The menu at Amarit reads like a vibrant tour through Thai flavors, featuring standout dishes that have earned loyal fans. From the rich and creamy Duck & Seafood Masaman Curry, where tender meats swim in a harmonious blend of coconut milk, peanuts, and spices, to the refreshingly tangy Tom Yum Soup with Chicken that dances on the palate with its signature hot and sour balance. The Pad Woon Sen offers a comforting stir-fry of glass noodles infused with vibrant vegetables and succulent proteins, while sushi lovers will appreciate the fresh and artfully presented California Roll and Sushi Jo.
One cannot overlook the appetizers that set the tone for an exceptional meal. Picture perfectly grilled Chicken Satay, marinated in curry powder and coconut milk, served alongside peanut sauce and crisp cucumber salad—a symphony of textures and flavors. The Crispy Tofu, lightly battered and paired with sweet chili sauce and peanuts, ensures a satisfying, delicate crunch. And the subtle zest of Papaya Salad refreshes the senses, striking the perfect balance between sweet, spicy, and tangy.
Diners praise the freshness and authenticity here, with many returning for the savory excellence of the Red Curry and the unmistakable fragrance of the Green Curry, both crafted with house-made curry pastes, coconut milk, and garden-fresh vegetables. The Basil Fried Rice impresses with its aromatic notes of fresh basil, a medley of colorful vegetables, and perfectly cooked jasmine rice, making it a comforting yet flavor-packed choice.
Amarit’s dining atmosphere enhances the culinary journey. According to patrons, the restaurant maintains a clean and orderly environment with elevated décor that defies its humble plaza setting. One guest, initially hesitant due to the location, found the ambiance unexpectedly glamorous and fitting for a special night out. The presence of the owners, attentive and ensuring every dish meets high standards, adds a personal touch that elevates the whole dining experience.
While the food is consistently praised for its fresh flavors and generous portions, some diners have kindly noted minor issues like chipped plates, which speaks to the family-style intimacy of the restaurant—something they hope Amarit will address to maintain its otherwise excellent presentation and service standards.
Whether you’re craving the comforting warmth of a perfectly spiced Masaman Curry, the fresh snap of steamed Edamame, or the satisfying crunch of crisp Chicken Wings, Amarit Thai Restaurant delivers a multi-sensory experience that transports you to the bustling streets and tranquil temples of Thailand right in Palm Harbor. Referred to this restaurant by good friends and it did not disappoint. The decor is typical Thai but an elevated version. It very neat and clean too which is important. TBH I didn’t give it much attention or credit since being in a strip Plaza. In fact, the first time my husband wanted to take me here, I adamantly refused since I was dressed up and ready for a night out. Queue the glitz and glamor girl in me This time I gave it a chance and so glad I did. Pam and the rest of the staff were extremely attentive, they were consistently making sure we were happy and getting the best of care! And not ‘constantly’ which could make some diners annoyed by too many interruptions. That is a delicate balance which they executed perfectly!!! Onto the food: hubby got two sushi rolls, both were on point (apologies I didn’t get the types but I tried both and approved ). I had the special lobster Pan gong. So good!!! Cooked perfectly and came out with a steamy show! Every one was asking what our table got. Always nice to be “that table”. Then we ordered the seasonal mango and sweet sticky rice dessert, which was *absolutely* delicious. Obvi you need to love mango and rice to truly appreciate this dish. Because of the service and overall atmosphere/culture of the restaurant, my husband and I felt like family leaving the restaurant. Pam even referred to our first names as we were leaving. That’s unusual but fun! We will be back sooner than later!! Thanks Pam and staff for a wonderful night out.
In the Boot Ranch area for doctor visits, my wife and I stopped by Amarit for lunch. Seated right away I took a few minutes to look around at the decor. All the appointments certainly put me in a Far East mood. Looking over the menu my wife chose the luncheon Fried Rice with Chicken. I decided on the luncheon Shrimp Sauté with mixed vegetables. We discussed the spiciness with the waitress and assured her d bwe did want the Thai Hot spice, well acquainted with the heat level. She also picked the Veggie soup while I chose the Chicken soup, to go along with our salads. We discussed our day and schedules. We gave thanks for the food, for good health and the gorgeous Florida weather. Shortly our soup and salads came. Salad was fresh, crisp, cold and nice. Soup was warm, not really hot, but tasty. A bit later our meals came. Initial tastes confirmed that the chef had indeed listened to our request. Wonderfully spicy! My wife thoroughly enjoyed her usual - Fried Rice. My shrimp was spiced perfectly and the mix of veggies was crisp and yummy. Even without any appetizers, the luncheon dishes were large and half came home with us for later. Good food, good service, great atmosphere, we will definitely be back to try other items. At least I will, the wife will undoubtedly get the Fried Rice!
The food is so fresh and delicious! The owners are present so everything is done really well. I love the red curry sauce. I have been on several occasions and it’s always delicious!
It has been over five years since I have had the opportunity to order takeout from this restaurant since I no longer live in Florida. I was in town attending a funeral for a former Nielsen colleague. On 6/28/2024, it was 8:45 PM, and the sign on the door showed the restaurant closes at 9 PM. As I reached for the door, it was locked. An older lady opened the door and asked if I was picking up. I said “No”, I wanted to place an order. She informed me the kitchen closed at 8:45 PM, then closed the door and locked it. Having worked in the restaurant industry, if the sign on door says you are open until 9 PM, you don’t close the restaurant until 9 PM, and that includes the kitchen. There was another person who approached the door wanting to order food and was turned away. You can see him in the picture I took of the front of the restaurant. Their food is really good, which is why I came back again on Saturday. They need to update their time on the door and the online website to reflect the time they close the kitchen and avoid upset customers. To be honest, I don’t think they care. I noticed in their reviews that M Ann Gardella reported three months ago the same type issue. If you want to dine in or take out, I suggest you do it before 8 PM regardless of what time is on their door.
Great pad Thai! I’ll be back :) also the lard nai wide noodles are great. Amazing flavors, no wait on a Friday evening and good portions. Highly recommend if your looking for Thai food in palm harbor. Only thing I would say is this is the second time I’m served a chipped plate. I think if it’s chipped it shouldn’t be served to customers.
